Sulva on CNN

Our footage of the Present: Hope Tour was just shown on CNN’s “Morning Express with Robin Meade”.  Click on the image below to check out the clip.

Upcoming

We’ve got a few projects in post that we’re pretty excited about. Hopefully, we’ll have updates soon, but in the meantime here are some screen-grabs:

Run:Free

A friend of mine, Brian Elliott, ran 210 miles across the state of Minnesota in 9 days.  I had the chance to help out for a few days and even run the last several miles with him to the Wisconsin border.  With me, were my 7D, Tokina 11-16mm, and car mount, so I threw together a short promo showing what this Venture Expeditions alumnus was up to.

Return from Scotland

Scotland is beautiful and its people are beautiful and I want to go back.  Until that happens, though, I’ll be working with Jason (of the Jason Harms Quintet) on putting together an edit of the many hours of video we captured across the Pond.

Click on the image below to see more photos of the trip.  Also, I still have a large percentage of the trip to pay for, so if you’d like to help out – or if you’d like to spur me along to edit more quickly – please click on the PayPal Donate button below or go to jasonharms.com; it would be hugely appreciated.

Scotland

I have been asked to travel to Scotland next week and help document the Jason Harms Quintet as they travel through the country playing numerous gigs with an aim to “come alongside the local church and serve them in serving their people the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”
Andrew Laparra (the other videographer going on the trip) and I shot the following promo video to help give a better idea of what we hope to do in Scotland.
If you have any interest in learning more about the band or the trip or would like to help with the cost of the trip, you can visit jasonharms.com or email me at: tristan@sulvaproductions.com

NEXT 2011

A few months ago, Sovereign Grace Ministries contacted us about developing a creative promo video for their upcoming conference, NEXT 2011.   They were wonderful to work with and gave us almost completely unfettered creative control.
After a number of conversations, Jeremiah and I met in Southern California to shoot a series of timelapse and video segments with the talented Ellison Rounds in and around Manhattan Beach, Santa Monica, and Downtown Los Angeles.
A few weeks later, we ended up with the following video.

For those interested, we used a Canon 7D, Panasonic GH1, and an assortment of lenses – with Canon’s 60mm f/2.8 macro getting the most playtime.

A Time For Updates

It’s been awhile since we’ve posted anything new here, but we’ve been hard at work and there’s lots of new stuff in the works, so updates will be forthcoming (hopefully).

First, we’d like to welcome a new member to the team, Stefan Green. His primary roles will be in editing and sound design, but his skills reach well into most areas of production.

Next, we haven’t talked about this much because we didn’t know when it would come to fruition… well, we still don’t… but it looks like it’s much closer to becoming a reality now, so:

Last year, Jeremiah and Tristan wrote a feature-length screenplay entitled, “Survival.”  Jeremiah is slated to direct and we’re hoping pre-production will begin very soon.  Follow the film’s progress on twitter, if you’re interested.

Lastly, we now have a tumblr site dedicated to iPhone photography  - for when we’re without a good camera.

The Gospel Coalition

Earlier this year, at their Pastor’s Colloquium in Deerfield, Illinois, I had the opportunity to shoot a series of videos for The Gospel Coalition alongside Marty McAlpine and Andrew Laparra, with Lukas Naugle producing.
It was a great experience and I’m really happy with how the videos turned out – thanks in large part to
Edd Blott‘s editing and grading.
You can find the full videos on TGC’s YouTube Channel.

Ride:Well Documentary

Jeremiah and I just arrived in San Diego to begin shooting what will become a feature length documentary about a group of cyclists raising money to relieve suffering and fight injustice around the world.
The first two tours leaving from San Diego, CA are partnering with Blood:Water Mission for clean water in Africa. Check out the Ride:Well site by clicking the image below.
I’ll try to keep things updated as we travel across the country covering 4 different tours over the next 2 and a half months.
Oh, and we’re now on twitter
, so come follow us!
